Ingredients
Bread:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 mashed ripe bananas
Cream Cheese Mixture:
- 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 ounce cream cheese, softened
Glaze:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 and spray your baking dish.
In a large bowl mix together egg, brown sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla, and sour cream until smooth.
Next add in bananas in the same bowl and smush them into the mixture.
Then add your flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine ingredients then set the bowl aside.
Cream Cheese:
In a separate bowl mix together egg, sugar, flour, cream cheese.
Pour half of your banana mixture into your baking dish then add all of your cream cheese mixture and top it with the rest of your banana mixture. Bake at 350 for 40 min or until the center of your loaf creates a dome and no mixture comes off of a toothpick when sticking it in the middle of your loaf.
Once you pull the loaf out of the oven allow it to cool while you make your glaze.
Glaze:
Bring brown sugar and butter to a boil and cook for 1-2 min. Pull off the heat and let cool for about 5 min. Add in hot milk and then powdered sugar. Mix until all combined – add more powdered sugar if you want a thicker glaze.
Pour the glaze over the cooled banana bread. Serve and enjoy! Keep in an airtight container for a few days or freeze for later!
